Kakao Games’ upcoming MMORPG Chrono Odyssey is one of the hottest upcoming games in the genre. One key detail that everyone is dying to know is the Chrono Odyssey release date – and here’s everything we know about when the game is coming out.
Chrono Odyssey Release Date
The game has been in development since at least 2020 and has seen various closed tests. With positive feedback and trailers hitting Kakao’s socials, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the game. To that end, there is good and bad news. The good news is that the devs are very much cooking and there is good progress for an upcoming release. The bad news, however, is that the release date of Chrono Odyssey has been delayed to Q4 2025 – this means anywhere between September to December 2025.
With that said, it’s not all bad. There are some beta tests coming up and we’ll no doubt hear more about the game soon!
Why Was Chrono Odyssey Delayed?
This isn’t the first time Chrono Odyssey was delayed. The game was first expected to be released around 2022, but saw a delay due to development time. Afterwards, the developers decided to make a big change to the game, changing the engine from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal engine 5. This caused further delays as a ton of work needed to be done to move the game to a whole new engine.
Chrono Odyssey is now getting its finishing touches and Q4 of 2025 should be the final release date with (hopefully!) no more delays. Closed tests have seen positive feedback and it seems that the devs are just ironing out final issues and putting the finishing touches on the game.
